We are responsible for personal information under our control and we protect this information with our privacy policies and guidelines.

Identifying Purposes

We inform you of what our purpose is for collecting information pertaining to you before we collect it. We will gladly answer any questions you might have about how the collected information is used and any other questions you might have about your personal data.

We request your consent before collecting, using or disclosing your information, except when inappropriate.

Limiting Collection

We only collect information we need to provide you with the best service we can offer. We do not collect any information unlawfully.

Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention

We do not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, unless we receive the consent of the individual or as required by law. We retain your information only as long as is necessary to fulfill the services we provide.

Accuracy

We keep all of our personal information data as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary to fulfill the services we provide.

Safeguards

All of our personal information is protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Openness

We are open about our policies and procedures relating to the management of personal information. We have our privacy notices posted throughout our store and are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Individual Access

If you would like to have access to any private information we have about you please send a written request addressed to The Hitch House’s Privacy Officer with the information necessary in locating your information (name – date of dealings – who you dealt with). We will comply with your request within 30 days of receiving it as required in the Privacy Act. If any of the personal information is inaccurate or incomplete we will amend the data as is appropriate.

Challenging Compliance

Any complaints you have concerning compliance with the above can be written and sent to The Hitch House’s Privacy Officer. We will do our best to resolve any disputes relating to the protection of personal information.
